Hello,
I just got your book and read it cover to cover. Thank
you for your great book. ... I also wanted to get more information about the trade of
making custom high heels. I've been interested in this
for 15 years but have had a hard time finding the information.
I am looking specifically for places where I can purchase the
heels and other materials necessary to make custom heels. I
am interested in getting into the trade of making more
comfortable wide width heels. Your information on p123
was very helpful.
Regards,

Thank you for your feedback.
Shoeinfonet.com has compiled a good list of international sources
where you can purchase shoe materials. Look under "COMPONENTS".
Beware that you will also need some machinery and tools to put the shoes together.
Look under "MACHINERY" for suppliers. Furthermore, you must know how to make shoes.
Shoe making is a true craft and one that is not easy to master.
Specializing in high heels is even more difficult.
Years of experience is normally required.
Also, check my Designer
web page.
Some of the information there is also applicable to shoe making. There are many web sites
with information about shoe making as well. Search for "shoe making" or "shoemaking" at Google.
Perhaps, you should also get some real hands-on experience making and/or repairing shoes,
before starting your own business. Try to negotiate some type of training
and work at a custom shoe maker and/or shoe repair shop near you.
Sincerely,

Dear Sir,
I am sorry to bother you but I have a question that you might be able to answer.
I love drawing shoes and want to start designing and create my own business.
How do I find a shoe manufacturer? I've tried internet search engines but to no avail.
Thank you for your time,

If you are just starting out with your own styles, it might be best for you to
initially contract your shoes from an established small to medium shoe business
that make their own shoes.
See my Designer
web page for more about this.
Once you establish your company and make it known to the shoe world,
you will be contacted by many shoe manufacturers. Even I have received emails from some of them.
Sincerely,
J.J. - July 28, 2002
