I recently heard about a magazine that has lots of full figured women wearing high heels.
So, I had to follow up on this tip.
The magazine is called "MODE The New Shape in Fashion"
and it has full figured(?) women wearing high heels in it. Most important,
they look great and so does the entire magazine.
MODE magazine looks to me like a women's fashion magazine. I am not an expert
in the use of the terms "full figured" and "plus-size".
So, in other words, the women in the pictures are
gorgeous looking women with large body frames, but who have their weight under control.
This magazine has a column called Ask Emme. Emme is an awesome and lovely looking woman,
who you can supposedly see on Fashion Emergency, Monday--Friday at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT on E!
The Septmeber 2001 issue of Mode magazine has a rated several fashionable boots.
The editors voted some high heel boots by Etienne Aigner and Chinese Laundry as their favorite.
Mode magazine also has an online version. It lacks some of the advertisements
in the printed version, that have full figured women in high heels.
In regards to wearing high heels, two important points come to mind for full figured women.
They should avoid shoe widths that are too narrow for them. If their feet are C (wide) width
or wider, they should shop for correct widths until they find them or get custom made shoes.
Second, they should avoid high heels with pointed toe boxes as much as possible because
extra weight can magnify the pressure effect on the balls of the feet.
(More can be found in the book excerpt.)
Mode magazine was discontinued after its October 2001 issue,
but full-figured models in high heels still exist.
See beautiful Mia Tyler in Talk magazine (June 2001 issue, page 120)
wearing a pair of high heels by Sergio Rossi.
On Febrary 5, 2002, Lane Bryant offered a plus-size fashion show in New York City.
Chick here and check out the
